HOMEWORK for the first week of school:
1. Fill In and Return forms sent home in the communications folder.
2. Decide on a time and location in your house where your child will do homework every night. Set this area up with basic supplies like pencils, notebook paper, glue sticks, and crayons. This might be a portable tub that can be moved to a location such as the dining room table if your child does not have a desk to do homework.
Nightly Homework Monday through Thursday (starting next week) includes:
1. Reading the little book in the front pocket of the homework folder. Your child selected this book to read to you and should not need a lot of help in reading it. Please talk about the book as well. Goldenrod bookmarks with possible questions to ask go home in Communications Folder when fall assessments are completed. (only 1 or 2 a night) Please sign the last page of the homework inserts to keep a record of books read at home.
2. Math workbook varies in the problems assigned for homework. Check your child's planner to see which problems should be done each night. Please let me know if you are having to help a lot with math at home.
3. Spelling homework looks like a tic-tac-toe board of possible ways for your child to study spelling words. Please initial the box of whichever practice method you use each night. Spelling Tests will be on TUESDAYS of regular weeks.
